Nick and I had a Friday night that we didn't have anything happening. I made manicotti and garlic toast and we watched Prince Caspian. I bought this movie about a month ago at Circuit City when they first reduced stuff for their going out of business sale. Tonight was the night to watch it finally.
I was excited to watch it, though admittedly I don't remember Prince Caspian, or any of the books very well, except the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. We have the series, I will have to re-read them again.
Overall, I did enjoy this movie. Nick was able to point out a few places that just weren't in the book, and how two minutes into the movie we were 10 chapters in. I did get a little distracted by the similarities to the Lord of the Rings Trilogy (in movies anyway). There were a lot of scenes in this movie that I thought "hmmm, I think that looks just like a scene from LOTR. The trees...very similar, the army marching to battle, yup...the music in the "death scene" was very similar. Even the "river scene" was quite reminiscent of LOTR. Now, don't get me wrong, I did like this movie. Like I said, I was a tad distracted. I will admit I was a little more anxious during PC, not knowing exactly what is supposed to happen and when.
Not having an official rating system, I will give it a "glad we added it to the collection" and enjoyed watching it.
